South of Cape Guardafui lies Hafun, a picturesque peninsula with sandy beaches, historically known for its trade in frankincense and myrrh. This area, forming Somalia’s easternmost corner along the Guardafui Channel, has played a significant role in maritime history.

In the 1930s, an Italian company established the world’s largest salt production plant in Hafun, renaming it Dante. By 1933, it was producing over 200,000 metric tonnes of salt annually, primarily exported to the Far East. Hafun also hosts an ancient necropolis, reflecting its deep historical significance. Today, both Cape Guardafui and Hafun symbolize Somalia’s rich maritime heritage, blending natural beauty, trade history, and cultural importance.

Day 01 :

ARRIVAL IN MOGADISHU-CITY TOUR

Upon arrival at Aden Adde Airport, receive immigration assistance and transfer to your hotel for check-in. After lunch and a tour briefing, explore Makka Almukarama Road, visit key landmarks including the Monument of the Unknown Soldier, Italian Colonial Parliament, and Il Palazzo del Parlamento. Enjoy a boat ride at Lido Beach, visit Mogadishu Mall and Hamarweyne Market, then relax at a rooftop café overlooking Mogadishu Cathedral. FULL MOGADISHU TOUR

At 9:00 AM, Start the day at Mogadishu’s Central Fish Market, where vendors showcase a variety of fresh seafood. BOSASO-RAS HAFUN ( Est. Road Trip-8 Hours)

If a group trip member cancels at the last minute, cancellation fees may apply according to our booking policy. Refunds, if any, will depend on the timing of the cancellation and any non-refundable expenses already incurred. We will coordinate with our international partner companies to assist with rebooking or adjustments where possible, but please note that some costs may be non-recoverable.

14. DO I NEED A VISA TO TRAVEL?

Yes. Most travelers require a visa to enter Somalia. Sahan Tours will provide an official invitation letter to assist with your visa on arrival process. Visa fees (currently $60) are not included in the package price and must be paid directly upon arrival.
