OVERVIEW

Kooyame Island, the second-largest in the Bajuni Archipelago, lies 1.5 km inland southwest of Kismayo and spans 6.38 km². Historically home to the Bajuni tribe, who speak Tikulu (Kibajuni), the island once thrived but now has fewer than 20 households following the collapse of Somalia’s central government in 1991.

Kooyame holds archaeological significance, with ancient pillar graves inscribed with Islamic texts, possibly dating back to the Omani Sultanate era. These graves face threats from looting and destruction. The island also has a dark history as a slave trade prison and was once known as Onycha, famous for exporting aromatic substances. Today, Kooyame is noted for its rich history, white sandy beaches, and cultural heritage.

Day 01 :

ARRIVAL IN MOGADISHU

Upon arrival at Aden Adde Airport, get immigration help and transfer to your hotel. After lunch and a tour briefing, explore Makka Almukarama Road, visit the Monument of the Unknown Soldier, Italian Colonial Parliament, and Il Palazzo del Parlamento. At Lido Beach, enjoy a boat ride and shoreline walk. Visit Mogadishu Mall, Hamarweyne Market, and relax at a rooftop café overlooking Mogadishu Cathedral. Stop Peace Park. End the day watching the sunset at Airport Beach, then return to the hotel overnight.

Day 02 :

MOGADISHU-KISMAYO

Start with breakfast,we will drop you off to Mogadisho airport to fly to Kismayo. After check in and qucik brief you will start a tour to Explore Kismayo City, visit Goobweyn village to enjoy views and fresh watermelon and coconut. After lunch, take a boat ride along the Jubba River where jubba river joins indian ocean sea. , spotting flamingos and wildlife. Return to Kismayo, dinner at hotel and overnight stay.

Day 03 :

KISMAYO-KOOYAME ISLAND

After breakfast, get ready for a trip to Koyame Island, 45 km from Kismayo. Take a road trip through beautiful views and see camels and other livestock. Then, take a boat to the island. Explore colonial-era sites, Century Cementary, meet Fishermen, their dialy life in the island, Swim fresh clear water beach, sunbathe at beach, enjoy fresh seafood for lunch with the local community. Relax on the beaches before returning to Kismayo in the afternoon to rest at your hotel.

Day 04 :

MOGADISHO DAY TOUR

After having a breakfast, you will be droped to Kisamyo airport to fly to Mogadisho.

Upon arrival in Mogadisho airport you will continue and other day tour in Mogadisho.

Starting at the Fish Market to see fresh seafood. Visit the Lighthouse and watch fishermen. Stop at Hamarweyne souvenir shop, drive through Shanghai Old City, and tour Bakara Market safely while viewing the Black Hawk Down site. Visit camel camps, enjoy seafood lunch, then relax at Abaydhaxan Beach Resort with a boat ride and refreshments. Stop at Nimow desert dunes before returning to the hotel overnight.

Day 05 :

AIRPORT -DEPARTURE

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then check out. Our team will drop you at the airport for your flight. No sightseeing on the final day.
